Ernest R. Cody Sr., 79, of 28592 Weaver Road, Chaumont, passed away April 30, 2019 at his home.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service will be held 10 A.M. Monday, May 6 at the N. Watertown Cemetery.

He was born on August 5, 1939 in Pierrepont Manor, NY, son of Thomas and Marjorie (Wood) Cody.

He married Sharon A. Randall on September 26, 1965 in South Carolina. The couple resided in Watertown and moved to Chaumont in 1976.

Mr. Cody worked for Van Tassel’s Moving and Storage in Watertown for 27 years. He enjoyed playing Bingo.

His wife worked at Venus Swimwear in Dexter and was a homemaker. She passed away August 1, 2012.

Among his survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Julie L. and Joseph W. Davis, Chaumont, Viola L. and Kenneth Moore, Canastota, NY, his son, Ernest R. Cody Jr., Chaumont, a sister and brother in law, Beverly and John Freeman, Alexandria Bay, five grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, two brothers, Homer and Charles Cody passed away before him.
