Tina M. Mitchell, 49, of 35977 State Rt. 26, Carthage, passed January 12, 2018 at her home where she was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, January 15 at the Bruce Funeral Home 131 Maple St., Black River.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 16 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring at the Evans Mills Cemetery.
Born on April 19, 1968 in Watertown, daughter of William Earl and Nellie Mary Gardner Ashley, she attended Indian River High School. Following school she worked as a home health aide, at Northern Laundry Mat on State St., in Watertown before going to Covidien where she worked up until 2009. In the Fall of 2009 she went to work for the Freeman Bus Corp. as a bus driver until November 2017 when she could no longer work due to her health.
She married Kenneth I. Mitchell of Heuvelton on August 9, 1997 at the Evans Mills Methodist Church, the couple resided in Carthage.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and she was a member of Mercy Point Church in Watertown and the Smithville Baptist Church.
Among her survivors are her loving husband, Kenneth I. Mitchell, Carthage, her daughter and companion, Kendra M. Mitchell and Craig Kirkpatrick, Russell, NY, her son and his companion, Kenneth I. Mitchell Jr. and Crystal Goodale, Watertown, three grandchildren, Tyler Goodale and Kameron and Colby Kirkpatrick, her three sisters and two brothers in law, Bonnie J. Ashley, Calcium, Linda and Donald Weatherwax, Antwerp, LouAnne and Edward Charlton, Watertown, several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents two brothers, David and George Ashley and two sisters, Jackie and Sharon Ashley died before her.
