Tina M. (Merkley) Scougal

Tina M. “Merkley” Scougal, 53, of 12 Academy St., Antwerp, passed unexpectedly February 18, 2018 at  St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.

The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, February  22, 2018 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, 117 N. Massey St., Watertown.

A calling hour will preceded the funeral on Thursday from Noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in N. Watertown Cemetery in the spring.

Born on October 29, 1964 in Watertown, NY, daughter of Charles Merkley and Marie Gilligan, she attended Watertown High School and later received her GED.

She married Clifford W. Scougal on August 6, 2005 in Watertown.  The couple resided in Watertown until they moved to Antwerp in 2013.

Tina was a homemaker and she also had a home craft business.  She enjoyed traveling to various craft fairs throughout the area.  She was an avid Bingo player and loved to cook.  She cooked at the Harvest House located in Watertown during the 90’s for a short time.

She was a former member of the Northside Improvement League.

Among her survivors are her husband, Clifford W. Scougal, Antwerp, her four children, Marie Sheltray, Antwerp, Robert Sheltray II and his fiancé Stephanie Robinson, Antwerp, Jesse and Karina Sheltray, Watertown and Alan Sheltray, Watertown, four grandchildren, Emma, Charles, Martina and Dominic,  a brother and sister in law, Buck and Joanne Petrie, Watertown, several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she is predeceased by three sisters, Emma Garbutt, Dawn Layo, Charlotte Petrie and four  brothers, Charles “Hank” Merkley, Kirk Petrie, James Cluckey and Charles Merkley Jr.
