Obituary

Agnes M. Burnup, age 91 of 933 Leray St. Watertown died Saturday evening at Samaritan Medical Center ER. Agnes was born October 24, 1918 in Cranberry Lake, the daughter of Arthur and Martha Jones Mahon. She attended school in Cranberry Lake and married Floyd "Chub" Burnup on June 4, 1947 in Sackets Harbor. The couple lived in Sackets Harbor where she worked as a housekeeper for various law firms and Morgia's Restaurant. They moved to Watertown in 1985. Mr. Burnup died June 15, 1997. She was a member of Sackets Harbor Legion Auxiliary and Fire Auxiliary. Agnes is survived by a daughter Claudette Mitchell of Watertown, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a brother Arthur Mahon and a sister Marjorie Hall both of Florida. She has several nieces and nephews. Agnes was predeceased by a son Harry Burnup and a daughter Patricia Fry, brothers Richard Mahon and Chet Mahon and sisters Hazel Simick and Stella Blodget. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to Jefferson County Office of the Aging. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
