Obituary

Albert G. Lomber, age 89 of Rte 180, Dexter passed away at his home Sunday 12:05 P.M. He had been under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County and his family. Albert was born September 13, 1919 in New Breman, the son of Albert L. and Mary Burkhard Lomber. He attended school in Croghan. He served in the U.S. Navy Aviation during World War 11 from 1943 until 1946. He was an aviation aerial gunner, radar operator and navigator. Albert married Arlene B. Skinner on July 1, 1946 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Watertown. The couple lived in Brownville until recently moving to Limerick. Albert was a self-employed Refrigeration Repairman and worked for Loblaws Grocery Stores maintaining refrigeration and retired in 1985. He was a member of Brownville Busy Bee Gees, founding member of Baldy Creek Rod and Gun Club on Tug Hill, a 50 year member of RESES refrigeration Union and 40 year member of Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union. He was also an honorary member of Brownville Fire Dept. He is survived by his wife Arlene and the following children; Gary A. Lomber of Dexter, Carol A. Romeo of Sackets Harbor, David and Ann Lomber of Pulaski, Mary A. Siver of Sackets Harbor and John and Andrea Lomber of Dexter. He also has nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Charles, Roger, Walter and Paul and sisters Anna Horeth and Helen Kovacs. A memorial mass will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville with Fr. Kevin O'Brien, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County 425 Washington St. Watertown, N.Y. 13601 or Immaculate Conception Church in Brownville. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
