Obituary

Altha C. Lapp, age 95 of Dexter, formerly of Sackets Harbor, passed away Tuesday morning at her home under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County and her family. Altha was born September 30, 1917 in Black River, the daughter of William and Ruth Slater Brower. She attended elementary school in Black River and later graduated from LaFargeville High School. She married Charles H. Lapp on April 25, 1937 in Champion. The couple lived in Sackets Harbor for many years. Altha worked for Jefferson County as a cleaning person and later worked at Sackets Harbor Central School in the cafeteria. Altha was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars and the Rebekahs of Sackets Harbor. Charles died October 6, 2002. Surviving is her daughter Barbara Bisnett of Dexter, a son Richard Lapp of Florida and five grandchildren, a sister Esther Taylor of Watertown. She was predeceased by a son David Lapp and brother Edgar Brower and a sister Betty LaRose. There will be no calling hours or funeral. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor.
