Obituary

Annette E. Wilson, 79, of 31178 Sandy Hollow Road, Philadelphia, NY, passed November 24, 2017 at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will take place at a later date in the N. Watertown Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bruce Funeral Home. Born on November 4, 1938 at Madison Barrack's, Sackets Harbor, to father William C. Hogan and mother Bertha T. Sepko Hogan Carpenter. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1956.

She married William R. Wilson Sr. on June 21, 1958 at Sacred Heart Church in Watertown. William passed on June 25, 2001.  The couple resided in Black River, NY for most of their married life together, returning to Watertown in 1981.

Annette worked for P&C Foods for 35 years. She began her career at Weston's Grocery Store on Arsenal Street before they became P&C. She worked at the Seaway Plaza and State Way Plaza locations as well as the Carthage store during her years with the company. She retired in January of 2001 from the Stateway Plaza location to care for her husband during his illness. After Mr Wilson's death she was the night manager at Davidson Motel. She resided in Kamargo Apartments in Black River for a few years before she moved to Philadelphia, NY to retire and reside with her daughter. Annette was an avid walker on all of the established walking trails in the area and Thompson Park. She enjoyed dog walking for others and pet sitting during her years in Black River. She loved bowling, word search puzzles and her beloved pets. She attended Mass regularly during her life; attending Scared Heart Church, St. Paul's in Black River, St. Mary's in Evans Mills and most recently St. Michael's in Philadelphia. She is survived by four children: two daughters Lisa A. Besaw, Philadelphia, NY with whom she resided and Kimberly A. LaCroix, Albany, NY, as well as two sons, William R. Wilson Jr. and his wife Linda, Watertown, NY and Kevin M. Wilson and his wife Sarah of NM. She is also survived by a brother Edward C. Carpenter and his wife Rose of Dexter, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband of 43 years, she was predeceased by a brother, William C. Hogan Jr. of Rochester, NY and her stepfather, Edward C. Carpenter. Donations may be made in her memory to the local SPCA: 25056 Water St., Watertown, NY or the animal charity of your choice.
