Obituary

Anthony 'Tony' W. Lindsay, age 78 of Old State Rd., Dexter passed away Sunday at Samaritan Medical Center. Tony was born August 15, 1935 in Ayrshire, Scotland the son of William and Sarah O'Donnell Lindsay. He was educated in Scotland and apprenticed for Massey Harris Equipment Co. as a toolmaker. He worked for several companies in Scotland and moved to Canada in 1957 where he worked as a toolmaker and moved to Dexter in 1961. He then worked for Lockhead-Martin, N.Y. Air Brake and later Northland Electric. He married Betty Muirhead on November 1, 1958 and she passed away May 10, 2009. Tony is survived by three children: Heather and Gary Phillips of Cape Vincent, William Lindsay of Clayton and David Lindsay of Clayton. He has 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Wednesday September 11th at 8:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter, with Rev. Sally Buyea of the Dexter United Methodist Church officiating. He will then be cremated. Calling hours will be Wednesday also from 2-4 and 7-8 P.M. prior to the service. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
