Armida E. Krauss, 90 of LaFargeville passed away Saturday morning at Samaritan Keep Home where she has been a resident for a year. Armida was born April 21, 1926 in Long Island City, the daughter of John and Emily Smith. She married Joseph G. Krauss and the couple lived in Bellmore, NY until Mr. Krauss passed away on April 4th, 1973. Armida worked as a Nurse's Aide for several years and later was an Optometry Assistant in Rockville Center, NY. She moved to LaFargeville in 1986 and lived with her daughter and granddaughter. She was a member of the Sunshine Quilters Club of Stone Mills, volunteered at the Summer Children's' Lunch Program, also volunteered at the Literacy Program in Watertown. She was an avid quilter and a member of KAP Quilting. Surviving is her daughter Donna Wurtz of LaFargeville, a grandson Matthew and his wife Dawn Wurtz, a granddaughter Marissa and her husband John Hyde II and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son John Krauss on October 5, 2008. There will be no funeral or calling hours. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
