Arthur V. "Bud" Hilts, 90 of Witt Road, Chaumont passed away Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter-in-law, Maureen Hilts, under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. Arthur was born October 7, 1926 in Glenfield, N.Y. the son of Arthur C. and Madeline Sullivan Hilts. He attended school in Glenfield and graduated from Dexter High School. On August 28, 1945 he married Blanche Swain in Dexter. She passed away November 24, 1988. Arthur was a Truck-driver who worked for Crowley's for 2 years and the GILCO of LaFargeville until he retired. He is survived by a son Arthur H. Hilts and wife Maryann of Chaumont, two daughters: Linda Henderson and companion David Anderson of Watertown and Robin Sayyeau of Chaumont, daughter-in-law Maureen Hilts of Chaumont. Brothers: John Hilts of Hannibal, Bill Hilts of Hastings, Dean Hilts of Central Square and sisters Pauline Piper of Watertown and Dorothy Standon of North Carolina, fifteen grandchildren, twentynine great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his hunting dog Rufus also survive He was predeceased by three sons: Richard, Mark and Bruce and a daughter Sharon Chambers. Funeral services will be graveside at Dexter Cemetery at 2:00 PM Friday. Calling hours will be 12:00-2:00 prior to the graveside service..
