Obituary

Augustine Intschert, age 76 of Main St. Glen Park passed away Saturday 4:00P.M. at Angels' Inn Watertown. Augustine was born May 14, 1931 in Dietach, Austria. She was the daughter of Florian and Maria Hintholzer Hamader. She was educated in Austria and married George Intschert on September 6, 1947 in Steyer, Austria. The couple came to the United States in 1950 and in 1956 bought a dairy farm in Dexter. The family became naturalized citizens in 1959. Mr. Intschert died June 28, 1981 and Mrs. Intschert later moved to Glen Park in 1988. She worked at Northland Motors from 1962-1964 and then Weston's Department Store in 1969, Woolworth Department Store in 1980 until June 1990. She was also a caregiver in 1990 and in 1994 State of New York for the Board of Compensation until 2000 where she was a Hearing Attendant. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church of Watertown and the W.L.C.A. group of Concordia Lutheran Church, Exhibited at the Jefferson County Fair with several winners in Floral categories, enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and word puzzles. She is survived by two sons and their wives, George and Julie Derrigo- Intschert of Watertown and James and Cindy Foote-Intschert of Sackets Harbor. She has five grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by a sister Theresa Godfied of Burnbauer, Austria and a brother Ferdinand Hamader of Austria and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Maria Kram and a brother Florian Hamader. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at11:00 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Luisi officiating. Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery in the spring. Donations may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church, Arsenal St. Watertown or Hospice of Jefferson County 425 Washington St. Watertown. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
