Barbara M. Litz, 86, of Summer St., Watertown, passed April 30, 2016 at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY.

She was born on March 16, 1930 at the Madison Barracks in Sackets Harbor, NY, the daughter of Richard H. and Hilda M. Parker Swain. She graduated from Sackets Harbor Central School and graduated from nursing school in 1966 and became an LPN and worked at Mercy Hospital for over 25 years.

She enjoyed Bingo, spending time with her grandchildren and friends.

She married Floyd K. Litz on August 31, 1968; he passed on March 1, 1978.

Among her survivors are a daughter and son in law, Beverly and Roger La Mark, Watertown; three sons and four daughters in law, Stephen and Karen Roberts, Mattydale, NY, Raymond and Antoinette Swain, Michigan, Robert and Pauline Swain, Watertown, NY, Rose Swain, Oneida; two brothers and a sister in law, Dennis Swain, Copenhagen, Gary and Kaye Swain, NC; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, four great great granddaughters, several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, a son, Michael Swain died in 1999, two brothers, Frederick and Robert Swain and six sisters, Shirley, Kathryn, Norma, Frances, Margaret and Blanche all passed before her.

The family will have a memorial service 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 15 at the Watertown Assembly of God Church on Haley St.  Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.
