Obituary

Carlton R. Fowler, age 80 of Chaumont, N.Y. passed away at Samaritan Medical Center Friday morning. Carlton was born September 20, 1933 in Watertown, the son of Roy and Catherine Griffin Fowler. He graduated from IHA High School and entered the Army in 1955 and served until 1957. Carlton married Joyce A. Delaney on September 18, 1956 at Sacred Heart Church in Watertown. The couple has lived most their married lives in Chaumont. Carlton was a salesman for various firms in the north country and retired from Gray's Wholesale of Clayton. He also was a civilian cook at Ft. Drum. Carlton is a member of Smith-Savage Post 583 American Legion of Dexter, was a volunteer fireman with Chaumont Fire Dept., former member of the Lyme Rod and Gun Club. He was well known for "Pop's Hot Sauce" which he made. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce and a daughter Carla and husband Jeff Malmgren of Three Mile Bay. He was predeceased by four sisters and one brother. There will be no funeral services or calling hours per his request. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
