Obituary

Carol Wilder Calhoun, age 88 of Dexter passed away Sunday afternoon at the Samaritan Medical Center ER. Carol was born December 24, 1923 in Dexter the daughter of Neil S. and Mildred E. Lamon Wilder. She graduated from Dexter High School and the Rochester Business Institute. She was a bookkeeper for Dexter Sulphite, Black River Valley Club and Quick Motors until she retired in 1987. She married Gerald Calhoun on February 5th, 1983 and he died a few years later. She was a member of Dexter American Legion Auxiliary Post 583 and Dexter Free Library. She is survived by a sister Norma Jane O'Connor of Dexter and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Kent Neil Wilder and a sister Norinne June Pitkin. Funeral services will be Thursday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Brownville at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Storey officiating. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Donations may be made to the Dexter Free Library.
