Carolyn Jean Peters 75, Case Road Chaumont passed away Tuesday August 30th 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital Syracuse surrounded by her family.
Born on November 27th, 1940 in Lowville, NY, daughter of the late Donald and Anna Lee Goutremout.
Carolyn is survived by her husband John Peters. They were married at All Saints Church, Chaumont on May 18th, 1963 with the Reverend Gerald Sharland officiating.
Carolyn is also survived by their five children. Their daughters Lisa and her husband David Judson, who reside in Dublin, Ohio and their children Cameron and his wife Kelsey, Jared, Katelyn, Noelle, Sarah, Megan, Abigail and Emily. Mary Timerman and her husband Matthew who resides in LaFargeville, NY and their sons Kenneth, Mitchell, and Nolan.
She is also survived by her sons Eric Peters and his wife Lori who reside in Chaumont, NY and their children Brooke, Ryan, and Mallory. Brian Peters and his wife Dana who reside in Chaumont and their children Jessica, Tiffany, Kayla, Taylor, Jake, and Luke. Kyle Peters and his wife Stephanie who reside in Adams Center and their sons Kaleb and Drew.
She also had two great grandchildren Tinsley and Beckham.
Carolyn is also survived by her brother Lynn Goutremout of Chaumont, NY and her nieces Dessiray, Amanda, and a nephew Jamie.
She was predeceased by her brother Donald Goutremoutand survived by her sister in law Rosalyn Goutremout of Dexter and her nieces Peggy, Kelly, Holly, and nephews Robert and Richard.
Carolyn graduated from Lyme Central School and Watertown School of Commerce. She was a bookkeeper at Knowlton Brothers Paper before raising her family and working on the family farm with her husband all their married life. She was a life member of Northern New York Agricultural Historical Society in Stone Mills and a communicant of St. Anthony's Church Watertown.
Carolyn and her husband enjoyed tending to their garden. They also traveled extensively- locally to children's and grandchildren's sporting and musical events as well as throughout the country on bus trips with many friends. Above all, she loved taking care of her family. Her homemade bread, cookies, and pies will be missed almost as much as she will be.
Calling hours will be Friday September 2nd from 6:00-9:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home Dexter and Funeral Saturday September 3rd 12:00 noon at St. Anthony's Church Watertown with Reverend Msgr. Robert Aucoin and Reverend Father Donald Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at New Cedar Grove Cemetery Chaumont.
