Obituary

Carolyn L. Post, 88, of 172 Maple St., Black River, passed June 28, 2015 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Arrangements are with the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service will be held at the Lowville Rural Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life on July 26th.

Born on January 18, 1927 in Williamstown, NY, daughter of Robert and Helen (Carter) Lauber, Carolyn graduated from Lowville Academy in 1945. As a teenager she worked in Old Forge at various resorts.

She married Kenneth P. Post on June 8, 1947 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lowville.

Mrs. Post worked for NY Telephone Co. and also as a clerk for Jefferson County, retiring in 1990. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, particularly to homes of U.S. Presidents.  The Posts wintered in Ellenton Gardens, FL.

Mrs. Post was a past Black River Village Historian.  She enjoyed genealogy and antiques, as well as gardening and playing golf, bridge, and dominoes.

Mr. Post worked at NY Air Brake from 1951 until 1987. He died September 6, 1999.

Among her survivors are two sons, Ronald P. Post and companion, Terri Grant, Adams Center, Robert G. Post and his partner, Randy S. Kraft, Chippewa Bay, NY; a daughter, Jayne C. White and her companion, Robert Parks, LaFargeville; three grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah (Ryan) Meade,  Abigail (Antinino) Carubia,  Taylor Parks;  two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Susan, died in infancy.  Carolyn's brother, Robert Lauber, and sister, Elizabeth Kerr, died before her.
