Obituary

Carolyn S. Robl Bridenstine passed away January 9, 2024 while under the care of Hospice in Muncie, Indiana with her son Brian by her side.

Carolyn was born June 18th, 1945 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Harold Wenzel Robl and Ruth Irene (Carroll) Robl She attended school in Black River until 7th grade when centralizations moved grades 7-12 to the Carthage Central Jr. Sr. High School Campus on Martin St. Rd., Carthage, NY where She graduated in 1962. She then attended Oswego State College.

Carolyn worked for Prudential Insurance before accepting a position at Jefferson County Social Service, a carrier that spanned 30 years. Carolyn was also a part time Bartender at the Watertown American Legion. Her quick wit, outgoing personality combined with attention to detail, made this the perfect avocation for her. Carolyn was an awesome cook, beautiful seamstress, crafty by nature and a great cake decorator. She always enjoyed entertaining and having a good time. She was active in many clubs and organizations, which usually involved going out to lunch or dinner.

Carolyn is survived by a son Brian Bridenstine and his companion Brenda Poole of Muncie Indiana. A daughter Laurie Bridenstine of Springfield, Missouri. Two grandsons and two great-grand children; plus a bonus Grandson, Hudson Poole. Also surviving is her sister and brother-in-law Jane and Milton Sayre of Clayton, NY; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, Harold and Ruth (Carroll) Robl, her 2 brothers Donald in infancy and Robert in 2014. The father of her children Cecil D Bridenstine and 2 companions, Robert LaSage in 2004 and Gilbert Schugart in 2022.

Arrangements are with the Bruce Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 18th, 2024 at 1 p.m. in the Black River Cemetery with a Celebration of Life immediately following at the Black River American Legion.
