Catherine E. Haynes, age 68 of Rt. 3 Sackets Harbor passed away Wednesday evening 7:30 P.M. at her home. She was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County. Catherine was born April 2, 1939 in Watertown; the daughter of Clarence and Fannie Hubbard Strader. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1957. She married Donald L. Haynes on December 14, 1957 in Watertown. Catherine was an assembler at Northland Electric of Watertown and retired after 25 years. She was an avid quilter, gardener and reader. Surviving are her husband Donald and five daughters and their spouses: Kathy and Doug Schwalm of Pulaski, Karen and David Nellis of Sackets Harbor, Karol Haynes of Syracuse, Kezia and Stephen Sullivan of Sackets Harbor and Kellie and Ron Grandjean of Henderson. She has five grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by brothers Robert Strader of New Hampshire and Thomas Strader of Watertown and a sister Margaret Farrell of North Syracuse, nieces and nephews. There will be no funeral or calling hours. She will be cremated. Donations may be made to Sackets Harbor Fire Dept. or Hay Memorial Library.
