Catherine A. Harwood, 72, of 933 LeRay St., Watertown, passed August 20, 2014 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

A prayer service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, August 22 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Anthony's Church with Rev. Donald A. Robinson officiating.

Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Born on May 25, 1942 in Watertown, daughter of Santo and Theresa Leone Messina, she graduated from Watertown High School in 1960.

She worked at Model Homes in Watertown as an assembler for ten years and Northern Electric Co. as a machine operator up until she retired in 1992.

She married Edward Young in 1962, the marriage ended in divorce.  She then married Roland Harwood in 1983, he passed in 1998.

Mrs. Harwood enjoyed knitting, crocheting and volunteering at Hospice, Samaritan Medical Center and Mercy Hospital.  She was also a Communicate at St. Anthony's Church.

Among her survivors are a brother and sister in law, Sam and Darline Messina, Watertown; nieces and nephews.

A brother, Peter Messina and a sister Laureta Dibble passed before her.
