Obituary

Cecil E. Thompson 81, Limerick, NY passed away September 27, 2013 at his home with his loved ones by his side. Born April 12, 1932 in Dexter, NY to William and Bessie Woodard Thompson. Cecil attended one room school house Limerick and later Sacket's Harbor NY and served in the United States Air Force 1954-1958 where he was stationed in Germany. Cecil married Yvonne Jewett on August 27, 1960 in Dexter, NY at United Methodist Church of Dexter, N.Y. By Rev. James Spear. Cecil and Yvonne built their home and raised their family in Limerick, NY. Cecil was a 50 year member of the 322 Local Labor Union where he served on the Executive Board from 1987-1994 and worked throughout New York State on many construction projects. Cecil is survived by his loving wife Yvonne M.(Jewett) Thompson for 53 years. His son, Steven Thompson, Limerick, His daughter, Julie (Scott) Amell, Limerick and Lisa (Dale) Goble, Lake Ridge, Virginia and his 5 loves Zachary, Ryan, Nathanial, Emily and Jacob, his grandchildren. His only surviving sister Beverly Thompson West, Three Mile Bay. Brother -in -law Thomas (Frances) Watertown and Donald Jewett (Marcia) Watertown. Three sister -in laws Mrs Bernard Martin, Carthage; Linda Jewett, Watertown and Mrs. Kilton Jewett and many nieces and nephews and his dutiful and loving care giver Melissa. Cecil was predeceased b a infant daughter at birth and his siblings Gerald, Robert, Wilma, Betty, Thelma, Merton, Marjorie, Linda and Garth. Cecil had several passions in life that included raising beef cattle, handyman work, Ford trucks and cars but it was his family that he held closest to his heart. Calling hours for Cecil will be at Johnson's Funeral Home in Dexter, calling hours will be Sunday September 29th 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be on Monday September 30th at Johnson's Funeral home Monday at 11AM and burial will be at Dexter Cemetery.
