Charlene A. Barker 60, of Pillar Point, passed away Monday morning at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. Charlene was born May 3, 1951, in New Hartford, the daughter of John J. and Agnes Cichon Dunn. She graduated from New Hartford Schools and attended St. Maria Regina College in Syracuse. She married Robert M. Barker Jr. at The Immaculate Conception Church in Brownville in July of 1979. They lived most of their married life in Brownville before moving to Pillar Point in 2000. She worked at North Country Transitional Services for 10 years before retiring in October of 2009 due to ill health. She was also a child care provider. She was a very dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Alex (Sarah) Mauch, Watertown; a son, Judd (Kelly) Bensol, Canastota; grandchildren, Kara Michelle, Jenna Nicole, and Aaron Robert Bensol, Lillian Pearl, and Erec Alexander Mauch; 3 Brothers, John Dunn II, Texas, and James and Christopher Dunn, both of Utica; and 6 Sisters, Marry Dunn of Calif., Sue Dunn, Utica Margaret Getz, Utica, Kathleen Petrowski, Yorkville, Debbie Granell, Texas, and Carol Baker Miami, Florida. A brother Kevin Dunn died at age 18. She is also survived by her beloved dog "Girlfriend." Calling hours will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter, with Rev. Kevin O'Brien of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiating.
