Charles V. Yott Sr., age 69 of Depot St. Three Mile Bay passed away at his home Sunday evening under the care of his family. Charles was born December 12, 1937 at home in the Town of Cape Vincent. He was the son of Howard and Marion Bourcy Yott. He attended school in Lafargeville, Three Mile Bay and graduated from Lyme Central School. He married Mary Ann "Polly" Mucklewee on June 16, 1962 at the United Methodist Church of Three Mile Bay. The couple lived in Watertown, Glen Park and Three Mile Bay. Charles was a truckdriver and snowplow driver; working for J.P.Lewis of Brownville, then for Jefferson County and retired from Town of Lyme in 1999. He was a member of Town of Lyme Lions Club, Three Mile Bay United Methodist Church and former member of Three Mile Bay Fire Dept. and Chaumont Masons. He is survived by his wife "Polly" and two daughters Katrina Countryman and her companion Jeff Jones of Dexter, Krista Yott of Chaumont and two sons Charles Jr. and his wife Catherine of Watertown and Chad Yott of Three Mile Bay. He has eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He is also survived by sisters Ola Mitchell of Dexter, Mary Edgar of Rodman and Audrey Greene of Watertown and a brother Donald Yott of Shortsville. He has several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Richard and Norman Yott. A funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at the Three Mile Bay United Methodist Church with pastor Marc Pierce officiating. A private burial will be held in New Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chaumont following cremation. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 on Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Donations may be made to the Three Mile Bay Fire Dept. and Ambulance Squad in lieu of flowers. * Due to church schedule- funeral held over til Thursday.
