Claude 'Spencer' Mount passed away at his home in Three Mile Bay on his 86th Birthday at 12:31 A. M. Sunday morning. He was born on September 8, 2013 in Three Mile Bay the son of Claude W. and Anna Mogg Mount. He attended schools in Three Mile Bay. After leaving school he entered the Navy in 1944and was honorably discharged in 1947. He married Corabelle " Corky " Cobb on July 16, 1950 at the Three Mile Bay Baptist Church. The couple lived in Three Mile Bay where Spencer was the Postmaster at the Three Mile Bay Post Office until his retirement in 1983. After which his wife Corky became postmaster. Corky passed away on September 8, 2009. Spencer also owned and operated Mount's General Store in Three Mile Bay. He was also a Past member of the Three Mile Bay Fire Department. Spencer is survived by six children and their spouses; David and Olga Mount, Dawn and Alan Cuppernell, Lori and Ronald Walker ,Kelley and Carl Savage Jr. and Kris Mount all of Three Mile Bay, Timothy and Renae Mount of Dexter. A brother Warren Mount, Fort Covington and goddaughter Darla Taylor, Dexter. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers Robert A. and Richard H. A graveside service will be at 5:30 P.M. Thursday, September 8, 2013, at the Three Mile Bay Cemetery with Rev. Mark Pierce of the Three Mile Bay Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday September 8, 2013 from 2 until 5 at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
