David L. Blackwell, 60 of Dexter passed away Monday afternoon at Samaritan Medical Center. David was born May 28, 1957 in Watertown, the son of Earl and Flora Liptrott Blackwell Sr.  He graduated from Sackets Harbor Central School. David worked several jobs including RGIS an inventory specialty company, Watertown Daily Times as a carrier for over 14 years. He enjoyed basketball games, marching band competitions, gardening and amusement parks.  His life revolved around his great nieces and their activities. He is survived by two brothers: Earl and Karen Blackwell of Sackets Harbor and Mark Blackwell of Smithville and a sister Sue Blackwell of Dexter.  A niece Deanna Phillips of Dexter and great nieces include: Chantel Clark of Dexter, Haley Tefft of Chaumont, Amber Phillips of Watertown, Brittany Benson of Dexter and nephews Randy Blackwell of Johnstown and Jessie Blackwell of Smithville and 7 great great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother James Blackwell. Funeral services will be Friday February 2 ^nd at 11:00 AM at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.  There will be no calling hours.  Burial will be in the spring at Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor.  Online condolences may be made to dexterfuneralhome.com.
