Dawn Marie Bacon, 56, of Watertown, New York, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, at Samaritan Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since November 2018.

She was born on January 16, 1970, in Watertown, New York, daughter of Donald J. and Wendy E. (Dimock) Symonds. She graduated from Indian River High School in 1988 and following high school, worked at several local businesses.

In 2003, Dawn moved to Virginia, where she worked at Lowe’s. She returned to the Watertown area in 2018 after becoming disabled.

Dawn had a great love of sports and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens. She also enjoyed listening to her favorite bands, Def Leppard and Huey Lewis and the News.

She is survived by her two sisters and brother-in-law, Vicki L. Gough of Watertown, NY, and Kimberly J. and Scott M. Fancher of Black River, NY; five nieces and nephews, Zachary Pratt, Linnzi Pratt, Scott Fancher Jr., and Karlie (Austin) Libby; 15 great-nieces and great-nephews; and two aunts, Wilma Blakeman of Virginia and Mary Dimock of Philadelphia, New York.

She is predeceased by her parents, Donald and Wendy Symonds.

Arrangements are with Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, 117 N. Massey Street, Watertown. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 8, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
