Obituary

Deborah Ann Quencer, age 47 of NYS Rte 12E, passed way at her home Wednesday 3:00 P.M. She had been in a coma since a tragic drowning accident in April of 1987. She has been cared for at home by her family until her death. Deborah was born July 30, 1961 in Watertown. She was the daughter of Frederick J. and Beverly A. Wilkinson Quencer. She graduated from General Brown High School in 1979, Jefferson Community College in 1981and was on the Presidents List and received a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Syracuse University in 1983 and was on the Deans List. While at General Brown she was involved in Key Club, was Yearbook Editor, Football Statistician, Honor Society and Band. Deborah worked in retail management at Zayers in Watertown and K-Mart in Watertown, Central Square and Bloomsburg, PA. She enjoyed baking, music, shopping, fitness and summers at the lake. Surviving her is her mother Beverly A. Quencer of Brownville and sister Kathy L. Quencer and her fiance' John Hardy of Dexter, William and Catherine Quencer of Dexter and Gary and Laurie Quencer of Dexter. She is also survived by a niece and a nephew, two aunts and several cousins. She was predeceased by her father Frederick in March of 2008. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 4:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dexter with Pastor Paul Gmitter of Faith Fellowship Church of Dexter officiating. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery in the spring. She will be cremated. Calling hours will be Saturday from 2-4 P.M. prior to the funeral. Donations may be made to the Town of Brownville Lions Club at P.O. Box 266 Brownville, N.Y. 13615.
