Obituary

Delorus M. "Dilly" Hanson, 90 of Brownville passed away Saturday morning at Hospice at Ellis Farm in Watertown where she had been a patient since August. Dilly was born October 16, 1925 on Pillar Point, the daughter of Elijah and Elizabeth Shampine Shultz. She graduated from Brownville/Glen Park High School in 1942. In 1994 Dilly married Karl Dorr and the couple owned and operated a dairy farm in Brownville. Karl died in 1955. In 1959 she married Lyle Hanson who died in 1982. Dilly worked on the farm and was a self-employed seamstress working from her home. She was a member of Altar and Rosary and past president at St. Elizabeth Seton in Dexter. Past president of Dexter Free Library, organist at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, wrote childrens' stories "Ye Olde Farmer"for the Carthage paper and was on talk shows on the radio , past co-ordinator for Jefferson County Dairy Princess. She is survived by the following children: Richard and Mary Dorr of Watertown, Robert and Donna Dorr of Brownville, Diane and William Jessmore II of Evans Mills. She also has six grandchildren , five great grandchildren She has a sister, Lettabelle Offenmuller of Mechanicsville. She was predeceased by a son Karl Dorr 4th sisters Catherine Bevins and Lewella Gonseth and long time companion of 20 years Larry Clark A funeral mass will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Michael Gaffney officiating. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
