Obituary

Donald K. Anderson, 73, of 23189 US Rt. 11, Watertown, passed suddenly December 29, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, January 2nd at Woolworth Memorial United Methodist Church in Great Bend. A service by local Fire Departments and VFPASNY will take place at 6:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Rev. Warren Fargo, Pastor and Rev. Bruce Chapman officiating.

Born August 13, 1942 in Watertown, son of George A. and Anna R. (Graves) Anderson, he graduated from Hounsfield Central School in 1961.

He married Patsy Wood of Dexter and formerly of Glenfield on August 24, 1963 at the Brownville Methodist Church.

Mr. Anderson worked for Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester for a couple of years before attending SUNY Brockport.  Following school he received various certificates and licenses in the insurance field and worked for several local insurance companies.  He retired from North Country Insurance Co. as the manager of the Adjusting Department in 2000.  Following his retirement he assisted his wife with the operations of her business A1 Designs formerly known as Jefferson Fire Equipment and Alpha Embroidery.  He also worked at the Evans Mills Wal-Mart, Stream and Convergys in Watertown.

He was an inactive member of the Adams Center Fire Department and former member of the Dexter and Felts Mills Fire Departments.  He was a member of the Lewis County Fire Police Association and Volunteer Fire Police Association of the State of New York.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and fixing cars.

Among his survivors are his loving wife, Patsy C. Anderson, Watertown; two sons and their wives, Kenneth L. and Wanda E. Anderson, Watertown, Keith and Christina M. Anderson, Felts Mills; two grand children and their spouses, Kenneth L. Anderson Jr. and Brianne, Anna M. Roberts and Aaron; four great grand children, Daphne E. Anderson, Aaron M. Anderson, Trenton L. Anderson Leila Roberts; a brother and sister in law, Robert and Sally Anderson, Victor, NY; two sisters in law, Betty Anderson, Kentucky, Helen Ann Anderson, NC; several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers and a sister in law, George E. and wife Marlyn and J. Steven Anderson passed before him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local fire department or charity of one's choice.
