Dorothy G. Billings, 93, passed November 23, 2017 at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had been a resident.

A funeral service will be held 11a.m. Tuesday, November 28 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

A calling hour will precede the service on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

She was born on October 15, 1924 in NYC, NY, daughter of Elliot and Florence (Short) Rich.   Dorothy graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1942.  Following school she worked for the NY Telephone Co. as a clerk in the accounting department for three years.

She married Robert Billing, of Watertown, on December 12, 1945 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in the Bronx, NY.  Upon her husband's honorable discharge from the military the couple moved to Watertown where she worked as a saleswoman at McDonalds Dress Shop and Howland's for ten years, retiring in 1982.

She was a former auxiliary member of the Watertown American Legion.

Her husband Robert Billings passed November 28, 1996.

Among her survivors are her long time care givers and friends, Muriel and Arles Pierce, Eileen Kidder, and Eila Slate all of Watertown and her two cousins and their families in California.
