Elwyn L. Bell Sr. age 75 of Auburn passed away at Mercy Rehabilitation Center in Auburn Sunday morning. Elwyn was born March 29, 1932 in Syracuse the son of Charles and Maude Newton Bell. He attended school in Auburn. He married Barbara Thayer in Gouverneur and that marriage ended in divorce. He later married June M. Premo on July 4, 1965 in Stone Mills. That marriage ended in divorce in 1991. He worked as a carpenter at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Plant and at various places in Florida. Surviving are the following children: Holly Mathis of Connecticut, Jennifer Wagnor of Watertown, Elwyn Bell Jr. of Russell, Herbert Bell Sr. of Theresa, Arthur Bell of Theresa, Lucinda Bell of Boonville, Timothy Bell Sr. of St. Petersburg, Florida, Jeffrey Bell Sr. of Auburn and Vivian Stafford of Endicott. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Richard Bell of Tennessee, Irene Sjostron of N. Carolina, Pat Nichols of Auburn, Charles Bell Jr. of Auburn, Frank Bell of Kings Ferry and Joe Bell of Auburn. He was predeceased by two sons David and Byron Bell and a daughter Sharon Hamilton and brothers Herbert and Robert Bell. A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced. He will be cremated and burial will be in Brownville Cemetery. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
