Obituary

Ernest G. "Bob" Peters, 68 of 12185 Middle Road, Dexter, NY, died Thursday 5:20 P.M. in the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY. He had been a patient for 5 days. Born in Watertown, NY on December 2, 1938, he was the son of the late Ernest F. and the late Dorothy (Armstrong) Peters. Mr. Peters married Josephine A.Caputo November 7, 1964 at St. Andrews Church, Sackets Harbor by Fr. John Kennedy. They have lived at their present home all their married lives. He served in the Army from Dec. 13, 1955 to Nov. 30, 1961 when he was discharged as a SP4. He was a Machinist, employed by Standard Auto of Watertown where he retired in 1998. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing cards and was an accomplished woodworker. He was a member of Pillar Point Fire Dept., American Legion Post 583 of Dexter, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He is survived by his wife Josephine and two children and their spouses: Angelo "Bobby" Peters and his wife Starr of Dexter and Ann More and her husband Terry of Dexter and four grandchildren. He has brothers Merl, John, Fred, Billy and a sister Diane addresses unknown and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Virginia Frasher and a brother Terry Peters. A memorial luncheon will be given Monday at 3:00 P.M. at the Pillar Point Fire Hall. Calling hours will be Monday from 6-8 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 8:00 P.M. with Fr. Kevin O'Brien, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville officiating. He will be cremated and burial will be in the spring at Dexter Cemetery. Donations may be made to Pillar Point Fire Dept. or Dexter Ambulance Fund.
