Eugene R. Schirmer, 71, of 30451 Burnup Road, Black River, passed August 4, 2016.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 6 at Brookside Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours or funeral service.

Arrangements are with the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River.

He was born on September 9, 1944 in Watertown, the son of Urban and Dorothy (Weal) Schirmer.

He married Margo Lobdell on May 21, 1965 at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Watertown.  The couple divorced years later.  Mr. Schirmer worked at NY Air Brake as a millwright and welder for forty five years, retiring on September 9, 2008.

Among his survivors are two daughters and a son in law, Torri L. and James Richmire, Watertown, Cindy J. Brotherton, Antwerp; a son and daughter in law, Troy R. and Samantha Schirmer, Black River; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
