Obituary

Floyd C. Schreib, age 83 of NYS Rte 180, Dexter died Wednesday evening at his home. He had been under the care of Hospice and his family. Floyd was born June 30, 1926 in Riga, N.Y. the son of Clarence and Daisy Mills Schreib. He attended school in Brockport. Floyd served in the Army during World War 11 in Central Europe in Recon Calvary. Floyd married Evelyn Tallman on August 9, 1947 in Silver Springs, N.Y. He worked at Eastman Kodak in Rochester in the emulsion melt division. He retired in 1983 and shortly after moved to Dexter. Floyd was a member and elder of the Dexter Presbyterian Church, Dexter Lodge #1072 F.&A.M. Surviving is his wife Evelyn, sons G. Norman Schreib and his wife Barbara of Three Mile Bay and Eugene Screib and his wife Sandy of Ithaca. He also has four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, a brother Cass Schreib of Missouri and a sister Shirley Mechler of Rochester, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Sunday May 16th at 2:00 P.M. at the Dexter Presbyterian Church with Pastor Gail Parsons officiating. A Masonic service will be held also at this time. Burial will be in New Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chaumont. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County.
