Obituary

Floyd W. Seamon, 87, of 30503 Burnup Road, Black River, passed March 28, 2015 at his home where he was under the care of his wife, family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

He was born on October 16, 1927 in Richfield Springs, NY, son of the late Louis and Martha Dominon Seamon.

He married Mildred Hornacek on August 5, 1945 at the West Exeter Methodist Church.

Mr. Seamon was employed by the Town of Richardfield Springs and Otsego County for many years.  He worked for the Carpenters Local Union 278 in Watertown from 1956 up until he retired in 1989.

He was a Black River Mason for forty years, an avid hunter and fisherman.  The couple owned and enjoyed their camp in Kalura, NY for thirty years.

Among his survivors are his loving wife, Mildred H. Seamon, Black River; a daughter and son in law, Jane A. and Roger Schuster, Watertown; a son, Edward F. Seamon, Black River; two sisters, Rose Zenner, Otsego, NY, Elizabeth Collins, Jordanville, NY; five brothers, Lee, James, Grant, Herbert Sr. and Murton Seamon all of Richfield Springs, NY, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A grandson, Joseph Seamon died before him.

Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 1st  at the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River.  The funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in the spring at the Black River Cemetery.
