Frances B. Carpenter

Frances B. Carpenter, 87, of 1371 Sunset Ridge, Watertown, passed November 3, 2013 at home surrounded by her beloved family and friends.

Mrs. Carpenter was born on May 12, 1926, in Limerick, daughter of Clarence and Doris Brown. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1943 and the House of the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1946.

She retired from the House of the Good Samaritan as a Registered Nurse after 40 years. She was involved in numerous organizations and volunteer groups throughout her life. She took great pride in being an active Reach to Recovery volunteer as she was a 30 year breast cancer survivor.

She married Ralph E. Carpenter on November 30, 1947, who predeceased her on February 7, 2012. Together they enjoyed boating, traveling, community service, watching wildlife in their neighborhood, friends and most of all their family.

Among her survivors are three sons and their families, Rick and Deborah Carpenter, Watertown, Dale Carpenter and his companion, Renee Archambault, Sackets Harbor, David and Debra Carpenter, CO.; a daughter, Judy Carpenter and her companion, Richard Sherry, Watertown and Roanoke, VA; a brother, Richard Brown and his companion, Diane Carroll, Dexter; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.

There will be a graveside service and burial Wednesday Nov 6 at 1pm at the Fairview Cemetery in Rodman.
