Obituary

Francis “Frank” Majeski, of Scottsville, NY,  passed away on June 4, 2026. He was born on October 19, 1941, in Buffalo, New York, to Frank and Helen Majeski.

Mr. Majeski graduated from Hutchinson Central Technical High School in 1961 and later served in the United States Army. While stationed in Italy, he applied his strong aptitude for mathematics as a cryptologist, contributing to code-breaking operations.

In 1969, he married Eleanor Tripp of Watertown, New York. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion and companionship, residing in the Rochester area and, for more than 30 years, in Scottsville, New York.

Following his military service, Mr. Majeski pursued a career in electrical technology. He held positions with Glauber & Schaefer, General Dynamics, Electronic Navigation Industries, and Lighting Methods. In 1988, he joined the United States Postal Service, where he worked as an electronic mechanic until his retirement.

A true Renaissance man, Mr. Majeski had a lifelong passion for learning and a wide array of interests. He was an avid amateur radio operator, connecting with others across great distances and radio bands. He also enjoyed hunting, boating, photography, model railroading, and fly fishing. He especially cherished traveling with his wife, often taking long drives together in their sports car.

He is survived by his sisters, Gloria Kiera (predeceased by her husband, Raymond) and Patricia Conroy and her husband, Gerard, both of Buffalo, New York; his nieces and nephews, Mike Conroy, Michele Furlong, David Kiera, and Debbie Boeheim; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is also survived by his wife’s family, including her sisters, Margaret Lapo of Delanson, New York; Catherine Timmeny of Alexandria, Virginia; Alice Lazenby and her husband, Ray, of Supply, North Carolina; and Helen Smiley and her husband, Wayne, of Watertown, New York; her brother, Michael J. Tripp of Auburn, New York; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Rita Schaffer.

Mr. Majeski will be remembered for his intellect, technical expertise, wide-ranging interests, and unwavering devotion to his wife and family. His curiosity, craftsmanship, and quiet dedication left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
