Obituary

Frances R. "Mickey" McManaman, age 86 of Reed Road, Watertown passed away Monday evening at Samaritan Medical Center. Mickey was born January 12, 1928 in Watertown, the son of Thomas and Emma Jackson McManaman Sr. He attended school in Watertown and entered the US Navy in 1946 and served as a fireman on the USS Comstock and was discharged November of 1947. He married Nettie Brigham on December 3rd, 1950 in Watertown. He worked for the NYSDOT as a core-sampler on road construction until he retired. He was an avid woodworker making toys he passed out to children at coffee shops for free. M and M candy was his favorite. He is survived by his wife and five children: Frances and Dorothy McManaman Jr. of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Thomas R. of Colonie, NY, Cindy Meyer McManaman and Robert Meyer of Colorado Springs, CO., Steven J. of Ogdensburg, NY, Amy and Brian Frost of Watertown. He also has nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, a sister Patricia Miller of West Bend, Wisconsin and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Thomas McManaman Jr. A graveside service will be held Saturday October 11th at Clayton Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. There will be a calling hour Friday evening from 6-7 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Donations may be made to local fish hatcheries or the charity of ones' choice. Online condolences may be made to dexterfuneralhome.com.
