Frank E. Clark, 68, of 30884 Burnup Road, Black River, passed December 8, 2016 at the Samaritan Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, December 10, at the Black River American Legion.
Burial will take place in the spring at the Black River Cemetery.
Born on June 23, 1948 in Watertown, NY, son of Francis and Lucy Thomas Clark, he graduated from Carthage Central School.
Following school he worked for NY Air Brake and Black Clawson as a machinist, where he had a great reputation as a lathe operator. He then went to work at Fort Drum Power Plant as a maintenance man for twenty five years retiring in 2010. Following his retirement he had a "sometime ~ part time" job working with his good friend Chuck Stafford at Stafford Machine Co. in Watertown.
He married Donna Armstrong Sugrue on August 1, 2009 at Porter's Pond. The couple resided in Black River. Donna currently works for Convergys where she is an Associate for Anthem Blue Cross/ Blue Shield.
The couple enjoyed making and canning spaghetti sauce, pickles, relish and hot pepper jelly which they shared with family and friends. The couple also owned a camp at Allen's Camp Ground now known as Bedford Creek in Sackets Harbor for 18 years.
Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding his Yamaha motorcycle. He belonged to several dart and shuffle board leagues and was a huge NASCAR fan.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Black River and an Auxiliary member of the Carthage VFW.
Among his survivors are his wife Donna M. Clark, Black River; two sons and a daughter in law, Frank E. "Eddie" and Lynda Clark Jr. San Antonio, TX, Andrew and Lyndsay Clark, San Antonio, TX; a step daughter and her husband, Stephanie and Matt Finerson, Chaumont; two stepsons, Matthew and Kiah Sugrue, Chaumont, David Sugrue, Black River; 7 grandchildren, Lyla, Kayla, Keri, Jessica, Joe, Madalynne and Ava; a great grandson, Jayden; three sisters and two brothers in law, Mary Mono, Black River, Linda and Bob Kelley, AZ, Christine and Paul Ray, GA; two brothers and a sister in law, Les and Linda Clark, Watertown, John Clark, AZ; several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Arlene Clark passed in 2016.
Donations may be made to the Black River American Legion or Carthage VFW.
