Obituary

Frederick H. Knapp, 73, of 17120 County Rt. 54, Dexter, NY, passed June 11, 2015 at the Jefferson County Hospice Residence.

His body was donated to SUNY Upstate Medical University Anatomical Gift Program.

A Celebration of Life will be held June 27th from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Brownville American Legion.

Born on October 30, 1941 in Washington, DC, the son of Ralph H. and Edna Ogden Knapp, he attended school in Adams Center.

He entered the US Army on July 4, 1959 and served till December 16, 1959 and then transferred into the National Guard Reserves up until 1967.

He was a New York State Trooper for twenty years and worked at Knapp's True Value Hardware in Adams Center with his brother John.

He was a member of the Brownville American Legion where he was the former Commander and active member of their organization.  He was also a member of the Watertown Elks Lodge #496.  He enjoyed golfing and hanging out with friends.

Among his survivors are three sons and their wives, Timothy and Kristy Knapp, Stillwell, OK, Todd and Kathy Knapp, Washington, Daniel and Tammy Knapp, Calcium; a brother and sister in law, John and Mary Lou Knapp, Adams Center; good friend, Lorri Filkins; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or to the Brownville American Legion.
