Obituary

Frederick A. Thomson, age 81 of Baldwin Road, Dexter died at his home Saturday morning at 11:07 a.m. He had been under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. He was born October 20, 1925 in Watertown the son of Frederick and Marie Sheridan Thomson. He attended school at Watertown High School. He worked as a Truck driver for Sears & Pruyn Trucking in Watertown and enlisted in the Army April 23, 1951. He was in the Occupational Forces serving in Japan and later was a paratrooper in the Korean War. Following the Korean War he returned to driving truck and worked for Seaway Motor Express, W.T. Byrns, Teale Motors all of Watertown. He married Patricia Durant and that marriage ended in divorce. He married on August 26, 1954 Clarice Aloan in Watertown. Clarice died September 7, 2001. He was a member of Teamsters Local 687 Union, Dexter Fire Dept. #2, Smith Savage Post 583 American Legion, and Lil Angels Snowmobile Club. He is survived by the following children and their spouse: Frederick and Linda Thomson Jr. of Lynn, Mass., Mrs. Michael Anne Sullivan of Dexter, David Th2omson of Watertown, Mrs. Tracy Cynthia John of Dexter, Timothy and Alishia Thomson of Dexter. He has 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sons David in infancy and Timothy Thomson in 1963. Also predeceasing him were a brother Paul Thomson and a sister Dorothy Lambert. A memorial service will be held Wednesday evening at 8:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Fr. Kevin O'Brien, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church of Brownville officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 6-8 PM prior to the memorial service. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or Dexter Fire Dept. # 2. Pillar Point Fire Dept. will host luncheon for Fred Thomson Family from 3-5 pm at the firehall on Wednesday
