Obituary

Frederick E. Walker, age 92 of the Witt Rd., Dexter; passed away December 28th at Florida Hospital, DeLand, Florida. Fred was born February 25, 1921 in Syracuse, N.Y. the son of Hiram and Rose Cummings Walker. He attended rural schools and served in the Army from 1942 to 1945 with the 88th Infantry in North Africa and Italy. He married Laura "Alice" Salter on June 20, 1942 in Watertown. He owned and operated a farm on the Witt Road, worked at the Dexter Sulphite Mill, and retired as a machinist/Inspector from Black Clawson in Watertown. He was a member of the Brownville American Legion, VFW of Watertown. He is survived by the following children and their spouses: Gary Walker of DeLand, Florida, Richard and Katrina Drelich of Carthage, Ronald and Lori Walker of Three Mile Bay, Nancy and Paul Patchen of Depauville and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 71 years and a son Robert who both died earlier this year, a daughter-in-law Janet and a brother Leonard Walker. Funeral services will be Monday January 6th the at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Earl Reff of Fellowship Baptist Church of Watertown officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. prior to the funeral.
