Obituary

Gary R. Baxter age 72 of Brown Blvd. Brownville passed away suddenly at the Samaritan Medical Center Thursday evening. Gary was born September 18, 1943 in Watertown the son of Robert and Helen Zimmer Baxter. He graduated from Sackets Harbor High School and went directly into the Air Force where he served from 1962 until 1966. He then served in the Air Force Reserve for two years and then went into the Army Reserves in 1982 and retired in 2003. Gary worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Ft. Drum until retiring in 2003. He was a member of Brownville Volunteer Fire Dept., was a Cub Scout Master for many years, former member of American Legion. He enjoyed working on old cars and was an avid NASCAR fan. He married Donna M. Bourcy on June 18, 1983 at the Brownville United Methodist Church. Surviving is his wife Donna and the following children: Gary Baxter of Lowville, Mark Baxter of Arizona, Gordon Baxter of Croghan, Shane Baxter of Hammond, Chad Baxter of Brownville. He also has 10 grandchildren and sisters Nancy Berry of Rochester and June Collins of Colorado. There will be a private gathering for his family. There will be no calling hours or funeral.
