George L. Ashley, age 49 of Downers Grove, Illinois passed away 11:18 am Tuesday at Hinsdale Hospital, Hinsdale, Illinois. He had suffered from liver disease, heart and pancreatic cancer. He was born September 25, 1957 in Watertown. He was the son of Lloyd and Margaret McIlroy Ashley of Evans Mills. He attended school at Indian River and later in Downers Grove South, Illinois. He worked for several Tree Companies including Vidito Tree Experts, Aspen Tree and Davey Tree Co. and also on construction as a Union Laborer and later a Union Carpenter until 2003 when his health failed. He is survived by two children Krishtian Paulin Ashley and Michael Larouche of Illinois. He has the following brothers and sisters: William Ashley of Philadelphia, N.Y., Thomas Ashley of Great Bend, Judy Tocheck of Marshall, MO, Virginia Strebing of Carthage and Susan Williams of Downers Grove, Ill. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held Saturday 12:00 noon at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Calling hours will be from 10:00-12:00 prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Felts Mills Cemetery, Felts Mills.
