Obituary

Gerald R. Quencer, 76, formerly of Sackets Harbor passed away January 2nd at Samaritan Keep Home. Gerald was the son of Albert and Alberta Quencer. He attended Brownville High School and worked for the Town of Adams, was a mechanic, heavy equipment operator, and retired from Frinks Snowplow May 2003. He was also a self-employed handyman for several years. Gerald married Diane Henderson October 27, 1984 in Henderson, N.Y. He is survived by his wife Diane, two sons: Ronald (Lesa) Quencer, Adams, NY, Robert (Pam) Quencer of Florida; three step-daughters, Robin Alvarez, MI, Tammy Austin, AR, Terry Wheeler, Watertown, stepson Richard Haven of Florida, a sister Mildred Pisarski of Barnes Corners, five granddaughters, two grandsons and twin great grandsons. He was a member of the United Aerospace Machinist Union, enjoyed carpentry, racing- owned and raced his own stock car for many years, playing cards, family, friends and tending his garden. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Grove Cemetery, Lafargeville. Calling hours will be Tuesday January 8th from 6:00- 8:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Donations may be made to the 6th Floor activities fund at Samaritan Keep Home in lieu of flowers.
