Gerald F. Tighe, 70, of 614 Mohawk St., Watertown,  passed February 7, 2015 at his home.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.  A memorial service will take place at the convenience of the family.

Born on October 29, 1944 in Syracuse, NY, son of the late Anthony A. and Catherine E. Condon Tighe, he graduated from N. Syracuse High School in 1962.  He then attended Onondaga Community College and Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.

He entered the US Navy and served 24 years and was honorably discharged January 31, 1996 receiving numerous awards.

He married Marsha Henward on March 31, 1967, the marriage ended in divorce.

Following his military service he moved to Watertown where he worked for Jefferson County as a Security Director for several years up until he retired.

Mr. Tighe enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a NASCAR enthusiast.  He was a very active member of the Watertown VFW Post 1400, Harold W. Townsend American Legion Post 1757 and Watertown Elks Lodge #496.

Among his survivors are a son and daughter -in-law, Christopher P. and Megan Tighe, Arlington, VA; a daughter, Heather C. Tighe, Washington, DC; a granddaughter, Olivia M. Tighe; and his former spouse, Marsha Henward, Brewerton, NY.
