Obituary

Gertrude D. Frasher, age 86 of Watertown, formerly of Dexter, died Saturday morning 5:48 a.m. at Country Manor Nursing Home , Carthage. Gertrude was born May 18, 1923 in Watertown, the daughter of Frank and Edith Gamble Fitzgerald. She graduated from Cape Vincent High School in 1940. She married Harold A. Frasher on September 28, 1946 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Dexter. The couple lived in Dexter for many years and moved to Watertown about six years ago. Gert was a thermometer maker at Cheeseborough Ponds in Watertown and retired in 1986. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Brownville, Altar and Rosary Society , American Legion Auxiliary Post 583 of Dexter and V.F.W. Auxiliary of Watertown. She is survived by her husband Harold, a daughter Mrs. Thomas Sandra Beldon of Watertown, two sons Kevin and Wenda Frasher of Brownville and Keith and Joanne Frasher of Cincinnati, Ohio. She has 8 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. She also has a brother Paul Fitzgerald of Watertown and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Oakley and Harlo and sisters Genevieve Madill, Jeanne Plantz, Marie Moore and Iora Heinrich. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday 1:00 P.M. at Immaculate Conception Church of Brownville with Fr. Kevin O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville.
