Gladys Margaret Huni

Black River- Gladys Margaret Huni, 77 passed away in her home in Black River late afternoon on Monday August 8, 2016.

Margaret was born in Watertown, N.Y. on February 1, 1939, the daughter of Kenneth M. and M. Irene Johnston.

She graduated from Watertown High School in 1956 with honors. She worked at the Watertown Savings & Loan Bank in Watertown as a clerk teller.

Margaret married Robert H. Huni on April 19, 1958. She was an excellent homemaker, enjoying all aspects of caring for her family and home inside and outside of the house. Her hobbies included gardening and sewing. She enjoyed gatherings with friends and family and was an active member of the Karmargo Association.

She is survived by her husband Robert (Bucky) Huni, Black River, her sons David and daughter in-law Julia Huni, Oregon, Chris Huni, Black River, daughter Mary (Huni) Ryan and son-in-law Shawn Ryan, N. Syracuse, sons Ken and Tom Huni, Black River and Dan and daughter in-law Judi Huni, California. Also surviving are several grandchildren. Margaret also is survived by sisters Patricia Crouse, Florida and Jane Johnston,Clay and brother John and sister-in-law Patti Johnston, East Syracuse as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Irene Johnston, a brother James Johnston and sister Kay (Johnston) Otts.

A private memorial service for Margaret will be held at a later date surrounded by the family she so deeply loved. There will be no calling hours or funeral services per her wishes.
