Mr. Gomer E. Williams Jr., age 71 of E. Main St. Sackets Harbor, passed away at his home Thursday December 26th under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. Gomer was born March 15, 1942 in Grandville, N.Y. the son of Gomer and Evelyn Edwards Williams Sr. He graduated from Granville High School and Rensselaer Poly Tech with a degree in engineering in Lake George, Albany and Canton, N.Y. Gomer married Karen M. Wilhelm on January 16, 1982 in Black River, N.Y. He was a member of Granville American Legion, Granville Police Pistol Team, Watertown Hockey Association, Sackets Harbor Sportsmen's' Club, member of National Champion Silhouette Shooting Team, Decorated Pistol and Shotgun Competition Shooter, Grandville Lions Club and was an avid Yankee Fan often listening by the radio. He is survived by his wife Karen, and a son and his wife Joel and Kelly Sova of Sackets Harbor. He has three grandchildren; Gage LeClair, Kayla Sova and Evan Sova. A sister MaryAnn Reynolds of Glens Falls and a nephew also survive. He was predeceased by a brother Jack Williams. A private Funeral services will be Saturday January 4th at 10:00 a.m. There will be public calling hours Friday January 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
