Obituary

Grace B. Trapp, age 64 of Fralick Rd. Watertown passed away at her home Sunday morning at 10:05 am. She had been under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County. She had been ill with cancer. She was born April 15, 1942 in Stone Mills. She was the daughter of Gary and Eva Coolidge Bartlett. She graduated from Indian River Central High School in 1960 and received an Associates Degree from J.C.C. She married George F. Trapp on February 16, 1962 in Watertown by Judge Giles. She and her husband owned and operated Trapp Oil in Brownville for many years. She worked at Lewis and Clinch of Watertown from 1978-1983 and then retired from NYS Dept. of Corrections at Cape Vincent in December of 2000 where she was commissary clerk. She enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and bottle digging. She and her husband shot for Northern Tier Trap League at Lyme for many years. Mr. Trapp died June of 2005. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Vance and Valerie Trapp of Copenhagen; three sisters and their husbands- Sally and Donald VanTassel of Theresa, Betty and Fred Bacon of Philadelphia and Marilyn and Bob Fountain of Redwood. She is also survived by a stepmother Agnes Bartlett and two sister-in-laws Sharon Koch of Henderson, S.C. and Carol Smith of Lexington, KY, and a brother-in-law Gary Trapp of San Francisco, California, an Aunt Maysell Davis and nieces and nephews. A private memorial service is planned by the family. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or a charity of one's choice.
