Grace S. VanVoorhis, age 67 of Fox Creek Rd. Cape Vincent passed away Thursday evening at Samaritan Medical Center. Grace was born October 31, 1943 in Gouverneur, N.Y. the daughter of George and Nettie Stephens Snider. She graduated from Clifton Fine High School and received a Masters Degree in Education from Potsdam State University. Grace married Karl E. VanVoorhis on October 28, 1971 in Watertown. The couple lived in Watertown until 1996 when they moved to their present home. Grace was a teacher at Case Jr. Middle School in Watertown. Grace was a member of New York State United Teachers and Northern Federal Credit Union. She is survived by her husband Karl and three children and their spouses; Jennifer and Eddie Ennis of Cape Vincent, Susan and Scott Stanford of Lowell, Mass. and Karl and Weanhusa VanVoorhis of Ft. Gordon, Georgia. She has seven grandchildren and four brothers: George Snider of Frankfort, Elwood "Duke" Snider of Dexter, Robert Snider of Newton Falls and Richard Snider of Munnsville. She also has several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Burial will be in Oswegatchie. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-8 P.M. Donations may be made to the Three Mile Bay Fire Dept.
